A quirky community project that involves unwanted pianos placed outside in various locations across the borough has been launched.
Piano Out There will feature pianos placed at locations including Orleans House Gallery Woods and Teddington’s Landmark Arts Centre.
Richmond Council’s Arts Service is keen for residents to pop along, tinkle the ivories for a while, and take a pictures and recordings for social media.
The pianos will remain outside until late December, during which time their wooden keys will expand with damp, the veneer peeled, the soundboard may distort or crack, and the tuning pegs loosened.
