Visitors can use their mobile phones to listen to natural sounds of Richmond in a technological first for any London borough.

The listening stations, at Richmond Green, Richmond Riverside, Riverdale Gardens and Terrace Gardens, allow the public to tune into sound worlds created by the borough’s public spaces through their smart phones.

The installations have been created by 23-year-old sound artist and student Sam Kendall as part of his music degree at Kingston University.

He said: "Creating sound art that not just gallery-hoppers, but everyone can enjoy, is really important to me.

"I love Richmond, and I am excited and thankful to be able to contribute positively to the experience of locals and visitors alike, as they enjoy its public spaces."
